EHS/Safety Specialist

As a key member of our team, the EHS/Safety Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations. This includes conducting job hazard analyses, providing training and education to employees, and identifying opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety.
The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as experience in workplace environmental, health and safety program management. They will be able to work collaboratively with different departments to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct job hazard analyses and update JHAs as needed
- Provide annual refresher training to employees on health, safety, ergonomics, and other required aspects
- Identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety
- Coordinate with the Director of Safety to hold safety committee meetings monthly
- Walk the production floor every 3 hours to ensure safety protocols are followed
- Conduct facility safety GEMBA walks and document findings
- Develop a strong relationship with employees and facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety process
- Address any safety concerns with the management team immediately
- Work collaboratively with different departments to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Conduct employee incident investigations and track completion of corrective actions
- Perform other duties assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; also talk (communicate) and hear (listen); reach with hands and arms; employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. The employee must be able to drive a forklift/reach truck and/or turret.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in workplace environmental, health and safety program management
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, policies, programs, PPE, environmental policies (EPA), safety engineering, accident/injury investigation procedures, and operating rules
