SUMMARY:

In support of the Department of State’s BridgeUSA programs and the mission of Greenheart International, the Teach USA Program Director is responsible in managing the overall success of the J-1 Teacher Program (Teach USA). The Program Director ensures that Greenheart provides quality service, communication, and programming to U.S. host schools, international teachers, overseas partners, and the Department of State. The Program Director will strategically direct the team to achieve continued quality-program growth while collaborating with other department leaders to ensure that benchmarking, operational excellence, and key results are met. The Program Director will accomplish strategic planning and ensure efficient cross-departmental communication, accountability across functional areas/departments and provide one general direction for the Teach USA department, while also being responsible for building and ensuring adherence to the Business Plan objectives, goals and deadlines.

We are seeking a forward-thinking and visionary leader, who possesses a strategic mindset to drive innovative solutions and long-term strategies that enhance the Teach USA program’s effectiveness and impact. With a focus on continuous improvement and growth, this leader will guide the team to achieve program goals. The ideal candidate should be positive, organized, and flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking someone that has experience in program management, excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, staff management expertise, and database experience. Given the nature of the role, we are seeking someone that has experience in primary/secondary education as a school administrator. International cultural exchange experience is preferred. It’s imperative that this person can relate to people of all backgrounds and beliefs. This person should be comfortable working hard, being self-directed and at ease communicating with many different stakeholders. They should also be motivated by program goals, while staying within the compliance perimeter and regulatory standards. In a fast-paced working environment, the ideal candidate will have the ability to oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines that are essential in this role.

Some things you might do as a Teach USA Program Director:

  • Provide oversight of the program to ensure various departments are on track to meet the program goals, develop understanding of program cycle timeline, leverage insight to future program growth and development.
  • Contribute to compliance and quality program growth by continuously improving the quality at new and existing U.S. host schools, adhering to U.S. Department of State regulations to positively impact the international teacher experience.
  • Work with the School Relations Director to create and execute U.S. host school engagement and recruitment to elevate the experience for international teachers.
  • Grow Teach USA full-program portfolio by working closely with the School Relations Director, as well as collaborating with the Marketing and Partner Relations Departments.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including school/school district administrators, human resources, department heads and teachers.
  • Train program staff in stakeholder communication and development.
  • Establish internal deadlines and benchmarking, coach team members to achieve goals, track and monitor team progress to ensure departmental goals are achieved, adjust strategies, as needed, and report weekly progress.
  • Proactively identify and propose solutions for program-specific processes that need refining, utilize technology to streamline; Collaborate with all departments to ensure that processes are clear and efficient.
  • Conduct site visits, attend advocacy events, attend conferences and other training opportunities, as needed.

Some qualifications and skills you should have:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree.
  • Proven track record as a successful program director, preferably with cultural exchange programs.
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. educational system and 3+ years of experience in primary/secondary education as school administrator.
  • Networking and alliance building.
  • Results oriented with strong leadership and people skills.
  • Experience leading and managing successful teams.
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, ability to draw conclusions and create strategy based on metrics.
  • Strong problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions and solve problems efficiently.
  • Strong technology experience, including a high-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Salesforce.
  • Extensive customer service experience with proven experience in resolving conflicts and managing sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders, in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • A positive attitude and sense of humor is a plus
  • Experience studying, volunteering, or working outside the U.S., and/or experience working in a multicultural and/or multilingual environment.
