Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assessments Deputy to join our team. The Assessments Deputy plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the Army’s Command Assessment Programs, ensuring the seamless execution of cognitive and non-cognitive testing, data uploads, and the administration of assessments. This role requires a deep understanding of CAP design, data management, and the technical platforms used in assessment administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment Program Management: Assist the Assessments Chief in managing all CAP assessment data uploads, transfers, and storage within the systems of record. This includes overseeing the consolidation and building of required templates for submission to the AEAS contractor for the SMAP ELAT.
- Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Testing: Serve as a subject matter expert in group-administered cognitive and non-cognitive testing instruments, ensuring proper administration and integration into the overall CAP.
- Blackboard Administration: Manage backend Blackboard/digital platform course management, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring all candidates have access to written assessments.
- Scheduling Coordination: Develop and manage candidate scheduling logic to properly balance 72 candidates per cohort into daily schedules at CAP. Ensure accurate scheduling of candidates into sub-cohorts and assessment rooms, and communicate updates to sponsor teams.
- Panel Integration: Lead the integration and setup of 8-9 panels each night during execution, reviewing 2,000 peer and subordinate feedback forms to capture significant comments for panel balance.
- Data Management: Responsible for the proper data uploads, transfer, and secure digital storage for 2,000 Written Assessments and Strategic Assessment score upload sheets. Ensure the correct handling of all candidate data.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the Executive Director, CAP to draft initial panel schedules and allocations 24-36 hours before panel finalization. Coordinate with the Center for Army Leadership to refine panel member training, rehearsal candidate scheduling, and panel training materials.
- Room Configuration and Administration: Assist in building administration support and room configuration for assessments, and support overall assessment administration at designated sites.
- Strategic Assessment Data Transfer: Provide backend support to the Army Research Institute to ensure the strategic assessment data transfer is executed properly for each cohort.
- Advisory Role: Advise CAP Leadership on long-term impacts and considerations of any decisions that adjust the timing/sequencing of assessments, ensuring an understanding of potential long-term effects or unintended consequences.
Qualifications:
- Experience: In-depth knowledge of the Army’s Command Assessment Programs with practical experience in assessment design, scoring, event sequencing, and integration of assessment results into the overall CAP.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in managing group-administered cognitive and non-cognitive testing instruments, with hands-on experience in Blackboard as the assessment platform for CAP.
- Data Management Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel, including formula coding, to manage data templates and scheduling logic.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in managing data, ensuring accuracy, and preventing errors in uploads and storage.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with various stakeholders, including CAP leadership and external contractors.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to digital platforms, data transfer, and assessment administration.
