Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to serve as the Deputy Clinical Director for our organization. This is a critical leadership role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and oversee people and programs to ensure high-quality clinical services.
  • Delegation of authority and recognition of changing priorities to ensure effective program management.
  • Knowledge of interrelationships and inter-dependencies among various medical and administrative services and programs.
  • Participate in the formulation of policies, programs, and procedures related to the delivery of clinical services.
  • Maintain systems for monitoring quality assessment, AAAHC accreditation, fiscal management, GPRA performance, Medicare, and IHS standards.
  • Analyze operational data and provide qualified advice as a basis for program decisions.
  • Exercises full managerial and supervisory responsibility and accountability for the function and administration of clinical services at the U&O clinic.
Requirements
  • Must pass pre-employment examination.
  • Selectee may be subject to a probationary period.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • This is a designated position covered by Public Law, requiring contact or control over Indian children.
  • A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required upon selection/placement.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required.
  • Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
  • The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
  • On-call hours or standby duty may be required.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications
  • To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social).
  • You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part-time experience.
  • You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
  • For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume.
Education
  • A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from a school in the United States or Canada.
  • This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical College; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.
  • Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
  • Applicant must possess a current, active, unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., 1 year internship or the first year of a residency program in hospital or an institution accredited to such training.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
  • Specialized experience in administrative, clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field preferred.
Selective Factor
  • Board Certification: Currently possess the required Board Certification in a physician's specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and have submitted documents with my application to support this eligibility.
