Deputy Director, Supply Chain Management

DutiesServes as the Deputy Director of the Supply Chain Management Division.Responsible for bulk fuel supply chain requirements, inventory accountability, inventory management / distribution planning and execution, transportation, and terminal operations / oversight program.Oversees bulk petroleum DFSP operations and staff management during normal and contingency operations, including routine administrative and daily mission operations, and resource management.Represents DLA before outside agencies, industry representatives, and other external inquiries.Facilitates the operations of the Business Unit, Department of Defense, and federal civilian agencies for which the Business Unit provides technical, subject matter support.Oversees the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of programs and policies concerning bulk petroleum inventory, terminal operations, and related functions.Acts as the Commander's principle advisor on all bulk petroleum supply chain management matters.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. citizenTour of Duty: Set ScheduleSecurity Requirements: Special Sensitive/SCIAppointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): ExemptSelective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedSupervisory Probation: RequiredCompletion of Supervisory Certification Program: RequiredBargaining Unit Status: NoFinancial Disclosure Requirement: RequiredYou will be a Mission Essential employee. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Develops, coordinates, and implements petroleum supply, transportation and surveillance programs.Provide recommendations related to the formulation and acquisition phases that support supply, storage, transportation, and distribution programs for petroleum products.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
