We are seeking a highly skilled Change Management and Communications Specialist to join our team in supporting the IRS. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing change initiatives and effectively communicating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions and successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Change Management:
    • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance.
    • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
    • Design and execute change management activities, including training, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Monitor and report on change management progress, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
    • Provide coaching and support to leaders and managers to facilitate change initiatives.
  • Communications:
    • Develop comprehensive communication plans that align with change management strategies and project goals.
    • Craft clear, concise, and compelling messages for various communication channels, including emails, newsletters, presentations, and intranet updates.
    • Coordinate and execute communication activities, ensuring timely and consistent messaging.
    • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and measure communication effectiveness.
    • Foster a culture of open communication and transparency within the organization.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project teams, including IT, HR, and business units, to integrate change management and communication efforts into overall project plans.
    • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure seamless delivery of change management and communication initiatives.
    • Act as a liaison between project teams and stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Change Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in change management and communications, preferably within a federal agency or large organization.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Asana.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci) is a plus.
