The National Accounts Manager- Convenience Channel role focuses on developing the availability and velocity of Deschutes Brewery and Boneyard Beer products to grow overall sales volume in the channel across national, regional, and local convenience store chains.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Strategy. Develop an annual Channel Business Plan to include distribution and program goals for priority call points, an annual budget, and volume projections.
  • Leadership. Act as the company's Channel Expert and voice of the customer. Advocate for resources and build a team over time. Own Channel KPIs and present results to the Deschutes senior leadership team.
  • Retailer Relationship Development. Establish new relationships and deepen current relationships with all call point buyers. Maintain a high level of ongoing interaction and communication with buyers and their respective internal division and district management teams.
  • Distributor Relationship Development. Partner with channel leads at strategic distributor partners to create new availability and sell in velocity-building campaigns and programs. Identify distribution authorization gaps.
  • Data/Analysis. Analyze available data (VIP, Circana/Nielsen) to identify white spaces and gaps. Make recommendations for deeper ad hoc research at the consumer level to identify opportunities for growth with channel partners. Evaluate campaign/program effectiveness.
  • Selling. Develop selling stories and action plans for presentations to buyers.
  • Creativity. Partner with the Marketing team to create and deliver channel-specific programs that are consistent with the Deschutes and Boneyard brand images and provide long-term return on investment.
  • Communication. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to include the Deschutes commercial team, our distributor network, retail partners, and Deschutes senior leadership.
  • Industry Presence. Increase the Deschutes industry presence as a channel leader. Participate and lead in national trade shows and events.

What You Need for this Position:

  • 5+ years' experience selling beverages to national, regional, and local convenience chains.
  • Basic knowledge of beverage sales, marketing, and merchandising strategies and tactics.
  • Experience in understanding and applying insights garnered from IRI and/or Nielsen.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities with resourcefulness and a sense of urgency.
  • Strong written and oral communication including the ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
  • Conduct daily business in an autonomous fashion while maintaining good "business sense" i.e. managing time constraints, financial guidelines, and company ethics.
  • Ability to deliver projects and initiatives within budgetary guidelines.
  • Industry networking ability (supplier, wholesaler, and retailer)
  • Strong computer skills are a must including demonstrated experience with MS Office suite.
  • Must be able to meet company driving standards.
  • Residence in the Pacific Northwest or California is preferred.
