Position Overview:

This position is an integral part of the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes program. This position will also encompass building and growing the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes program. This position will support and supervise the Home Finding component and the sociotherapist component of Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes. The coordinator will supervise the home finder and provide support as needed in recruiting and retaining foster parents. The coordinator will support the case planning team by supervising up to one sociotherapist and will be responsible for carrying up to two cases. The coordinator will assist with MAPP training, matching youth to families, and assist in the step-down or transfer process of youth into the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes program. The coordinator will also provide therapeutic support during crisis situations with our youth and families.

Position Qualifications:

*Candidate must have an MSW.

*Must have at least 2 years of experience in working in the community-based services field and have considerable experience engaging youth, families, and stakeholders within the child welfare system.

*Must have at least 1 year of experience in home finding and recruiting/training foster parents.

*Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other professionals, youth, and families

*Must have at least 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience

*Must have understanding and computer literacy skills with Microsoft office such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

*Must have organizational skills.

* Must have a driver’s license.

*Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of culture, race and issues facing adolescents of color.

*Demonstrate ability to effectively use a multi-cultural approach in working with special needs youth.

*Ability to handle crisis situations in a therapeutic manner.

*Ability to work as a team member and independently.

* Effective oral communication skills.

*Ability to work within a team and actively participate in supervision.

*Ability and willingness to be flexible with changing priorities and adapt to the needs of the programs.
