Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role is a vital component of the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes initiative. The individual in this position will play a key role in developing and enhancing the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes program. Responsibilities include overseeing the Home Finding segment and the sociotherapist aspect of the program. The coordinator will manage the home finder and offer necessary support in the recruitment and retention of foster parents. Additionally, the coordinator will assist the case planning team by supervising a sociotherapist and managing up to two cases.

The coordinator will contribute to MAPP training, facilitate the matching of youth with families, and support the transition or transfer process of youth into the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes program. Furthermore, the coordinator will provide therapeutic assistance during crisis situations involving youth and their families.

Qualifications:

*A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree is required.

*A minimum of 2 years of experience in community-based services is essential, with significant experience in engaging youth, families, and stakeholders within the child welfare system.

*At least 1 year of experience in home finding and the recruitment/training of foster parents is necessary.

*Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with professionals, youth, and families.

*Minimum of 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience is required.

*Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

*Strong organizational skills are essential.

*A valid driver's license is mandatory.

*Demonstrated understanding of cultural, racial, and social issues affecting adolescents of color.

*Ability to effectively employ a multicultural approach when working with youth with special needs.

*Capacity to manage crisis situations in a therapeutic manner.

*Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.

*Excellent oral communication skills are required.

*Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and program needs.
