WC Claims Associate

Metis is seeking a WC Claims Associate to join the Claims team based at our Roanoke, VA office. You’ll enjoy a 37.5-hour work week where you will not work weekends or holidays. We take pride at Metis in focusing on our team members' well-being. The WC Claims Associate works under the direction of the Claims Associate Supervisor and is responsible for set-up, investigation, and management of assigned workers’ compensation claim files that meet pre-set guidelines.
This is a full-time role with some days spent on our beautiful campus and others spent working remotely. The expected hours are 8:30 am - 5pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime opportunities.
The company offers a 37.5-hour workweek (7.5-hour days) and an excellent benefits package, including a 401(k) match, generous vacation and PTO, and low-cost health insurance for eligible employees.
As a WC Claims Associate, you will:
- Provide a high level of client service to external clients as well as interfacing with other departments and staff.
- Evaluate and determine compensability of medical only workers’ compensation claims, taking recorded statements when needed.
- Monitor and maintain long-term workers’ compensation claims as appropriate.
- Investigate assigned claims and maintain accurate documentation to properly evaluate claims. Contact, interview, and gather investigative materials as needed.
Required:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Must be able to work and communicate with a variety of individuals.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with workers' compensation claims.
- Prior medical experience.
