Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMaster Center for Addiction Medicine is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Manager with experience in management and healthcare billing. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of healthcare billing, strong leadership skills, and the ability to maintain compliance with relevant regulations. The Medical Billing Manager will oversee the medical billing operations within Master Center for Addiction Medicine, which requires a detail-oriented and experienced professional to ensure efficient medical billing processes, manage the billing team, and optimize revenue cycle management.  This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills and experience in managing RCM team members.

Master Center for Addiction Medicine is a private, outpatient addiction medicine treatment center headquartered in Glen Allen, Virginia. We have additional offices in Hampton, Gloucester, Chesterfield and are opening offices in other areas of Virginia. Our approach to addiction is comprehensive, evidence-based and individualized, drawing on every tool that has been proven effective: medical treatment, education, psychiatry, professional counseling, testing/monitoring and peer support services. Our aim is not just to treat patients but to heal them – by helping each one find their way to lifelong recovery. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership and Management:
    Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of the billing department staff. 
    Develop new and maintain current standard operating procedures for billing processes. 
    Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the billing team. 
    Establish and track Key Performance Indicators for the RCM team. 

  • Billing Operations: 
    Oversee all aspects of the billing process, including claims submission, payment posting, and account reconciliation. 
    Ensure accurate and timely billing to patients, insurance companies, and other payers. 
    Address and resolve billing discrepancies and denials. 

  • Compliance and Regulations: 
    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and payer-specific requirements. 
    Ensure the billing department complies with all federal, state, and local regulations. 
    Conduct regular audits of provider documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy in billing practices. 
    Provider regular training with providers on proper documentation and coding. 

  • Revenue Cycle Management: 
    Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the revenue cycle. 
    Identify and address areas for improvement in the billing process to optimize revenue collection. 
    Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall revenue cycle efficiency. 

  • Customer Service: 
    Provide excellent customer service to patients and resolve billing inquiries and issues. 
    Work closely with front desk and intake teams to maintain strong processes and customer service 

  • Reporting and Analysis: 
    Prepare regular reports on billing activities, revenue trends, and department performance. 
    Analyze billing data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. 
    Present findings and recommendations to senior management


SKILLS:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 

  • Proficiency in healthcare billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. 

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 


QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare billing, with at least 5 years in a management role. 

  • 3+ years of RCM management experience 

  • RCM Certifications: Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or similar certification. 

  • In-depth knowledge of medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle management. 


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • eClinicalworks and Trizetto experience. 

  • Behavioral Health billing experience. 

  • Understanding of the Medicaid ARTS Programs. 


SALARY: $70k
