GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) is seeking an individual with initiative and critical problem-solving skills to join us as a Project Manager in the Energy Resources Division.

In this role, the individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the IRA Home Energy Rebates program. The potential candidate will conduct regular engagement with the implementation team, DOE, and stakeholders across Georgia and for Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA). Maintains subject matter expertise in energy efficiency rebate programs and ensures compliance with DOE requirements. Performs service delivery within organizational unit(s). Responsibilities include management of administrative, budgeting, operational and programmatic activities, and oversee contract development. The individual will provide assistance to potential and current customers and respond to customer needs and concerns. In general, he/she will perform or oversee the performance of duties in the areas of customer interaction and service, program management, contracting, file and record management, budget, finance, operations, and coordination with other agencies and programs. Travel is required. Markets grant programs to interested customers, provides technical assistance to potential and current customers, and responds to customer needs and concerns. Performs project and contract management for various programs. Oversees grant application intake and initial application review; supports financial review process; coordinates contract development and execution. Provides technical assistance to sub-recipients and contractors. Prepares all necessary reports for the program and the division.

Minimum Qualifications (Position Specific)

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, science, engineering or related area “AND” Two years of experience in the management of the administrative support activities of a business or government activity. Experience in managing contractors/vendors.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and/or job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications (Position Specific)

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a concentration in environmental studies, economics, or business.

  • Experience managing federal/state funds.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency programs.
  • Rebate program knowledge.
  • Two years of experience in Energy Efficiency program management.
  • Three years of experience in project, program or organizational management.
  • Pursuit or attainment of a graduate degree (MBA, MPA, etc.).
