POSITION OVERVIEW: The primary responsibility of the Service Contracts Sales Manager is to increase the Service Contract Sales across all Channels, Markets and Offices. The Sales Manager, together with the VP of Sales, plans, staffs, organizes, controls and manages the sales and marketing activities of assigned sales staff ensuring growth in market share.


The Sales Manager ensures all direct and indirect reports are properly trained and supported in selling Service Contracts in their assigned territories, offices or within their channel and/or market at the point of sale. The Service Sales Manager is responsible for continued growth of Tech's service in the form of one of the following:

1) Preventative Maintenance Agreements (MA)

2) Preventative Inspection Agreements (PIA)

3) Central Monitoring Agreements

4) Time and Material service

5) Software Upgrade & Support Plans

6)Extended Warranties at the Point of Sale


FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Sales Management:

Responsible for the performance and development of the Service Sales Staff. Conducts one-on-one reviews to build more effective communications, identifies individual training development needs and provides insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance.

  • Assists assigned sales staff in the development of sales and market strategies ensuring success in accomplishing company sales initiatives; assists assigned sales staff in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Ensures that each assigned sales member has a thorough understanding of Tech Electronics' Sales and Marketing strategy and leverages such strategy to grow market share and customer interdependence by expanding service sales across all systems and product line(s) for existing customers.
  • Responsible for the assigned sales staff's achievement of assigned sales objectives as well as sales growth objectives for all offices.
  • Achieves harmonious business relationship with customers and Tech's Direct, Indirect, and Service Channels.
  • Identifies, joins and takes a proactive role in memberships and organizations that enhance our visibility in the market.
  • Conducts annual meetings with small groups of customers across all markets to listen to their concerns or needs and identifies areas of improvement required for Tech from the voice of the customer.
  • Develops and defines service sales ready messaging and value added proposition statements for all of Tech's systems and market segments.
  • Together with the Vice President of Sales, establishes individual sales quotas for his/her product line(s) for all direct reporting sales staff.
  • Coaches sales staff on proper questioning and fact finding techniques to ensure our systems and technology solutions address the customer's business needs and budgets.
  • Conducts 1:1 meetings with direct reports for the purpose of performing coaching and status sessions; attends/facilitates other meetings as requested/required.
  • Ability to track performance & lead the performance of the assigned teams by utilizing the sales automation systems (Salesforce)
  • Provides sales and product support to sales staff during sales presentations.
  • Conducts estimating, and site survey training with sales staff to assure estimate accuracy.
  • Increases the assigned product line(s) profit margin through staff training and sales coaching and serves as the synergy between sales and operations.
  • Increases sales staff system and product knowledge through training sessions.
  • Must be able to create an estimate and submission.
  • Diligently works to remove barriers that impair operations, productivity, employee morale, product delivery, quality, etc.
  • Works with department, office, and sales channel directors to review strategies and tactics to improve quality and reduce waste in delivering service contracts for their respective systems and/or offices to market.
  • Serves as an employee, customer, and vendor advocate to effect positive change in the organization at the highest level.
  • This individual must treat each customer with a sense of professionalism and react to the customer's needs so as to project a competent and concerned attitude.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following are the minimum qualifications an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Three (3) years sales (inside or outside) and/or marketing experience.

This position has the ability to be located at any of our office locations: Denver, Kansas City, Topeka, Columbia, Bloomington, St. Louis, or Indianapolis.
