POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Manager will coordinate people and processes to ensure that DTV (Design to Value) engineering projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. This position will develop detailed project plans, ensure resource availability and allocation, monitor all DTV projects from start to finish, and report to our executive team monthly. These projects will include integrating DTV ideas into new products, iterative updates to current products, and coordinating R&D activity for projects that need technical development.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Track the status and timing of all open DTV activity across all Centers of Excellence (COE) by meeting with their responsible teams weekly. Rapidly escalate roadblocks and risks through the appropriate channels.
  • Lead program-level problem solving to get off-track programs back on track
  • Work closely with Product Category sponsor and DTV Engineering Manager, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives.
  • Work with site leadership and the executive team to determine availability of resources necessary for program completion
  • Assist in creating a roadmap of DTV projects for each budget cycle
  • Assist in maintaining a pull system for DTV activity
  • Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business. MBA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of program management experience required.
  • Experience in automotive, related products, and product design preferred.

Required Licenses

  • PMP certification is preferred.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Project.
  • Ability to put business plans together to evaluate proposed changes.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, and others.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to coach team members on Project Management processes and procedures

Travel

  • Occasional travel is required. Not more than 25% in a year. Occasional international travel may be required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is an individual contributor; a working team member with no direct oversight of others and no management responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is subject to Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Physical Activities

  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and the use of hands, wrists, or fingers in repetitive motions.

Visual Acuity

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

  • This position primarily operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
