Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager, who also oversees the accounting department and payroll, is a multifaceted role responsible for managing HR functions, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, and overseeing accounting operations. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and the ability to balance multiple priorities to support the organization's financial and human capital objectives. The Human Resources Manager will report directly to the Executive team and oversee the accounting department.

Human Resources Management:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs.

Accounting Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Handle audits, including preparation, coordination, and communication with auditors.
  • Process Department of Labor (DOL) draws and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Payroll Management:

  • Supervise payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payment of wages.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Manage payroll-related reporting and reconciliations.
  • Address and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting/administrative assistant staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching.

Strategic Planning and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the executive team to align HR and financial strategies with business goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) and CPA or equivalent accounting certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive experience in HR, accounting, and payroll, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Preferred Experience: CPA or Grant HR/Accounting
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and payroll regulations.
    • Proficient in accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
    • Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and accounting software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks).
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Hourly Rate: $25-$35 based on experience
