Ascend Elements is taking the lithium-ion battery industry to a higher level.

Driven by the legislation in the United States and North America and general drive for sustainability within the automotive sector, AE is seeing a dramatic growth in new business and strategic collaboration opportunities. The company is growing its feedstock contracts and as part of the scale up of the organization is now recruiting a Business Development Account Manager to support the additional business.

Position Overview

The Business Development Account Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day responsibilities of secured inbound scrap contracts into AE’s Covington, GA shredding facility.

This position reports functionally to the Business Development Director – Feedstock & Recycling Services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Quote new business opportunities and develop pricing strategies to meet internal financial targets
  • Lead and manage inbound scrap shipments from customers to AE’s Covington, GA facility
  • Work in close collaboration with the AE Covington, GA team to coordinate inbound shipments, production planning, and outbound return shipments
  • Support commercial, legal, and finance departments when necessary for order processing
  • Work in close collaboration with the sales order management to generate sales and purchase orders
  • Closely monitor inbound shipment volume, outbound return packaging shipments, and other relevant metrics
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of sales operations processes focusing on sales order management, forecasting and quotation preparation

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in account management and/or customer service
  • Familiar with electric vehicle, battery materials, and/or recycling industries
  • Self-motivated and capable of proactively interacting with teams remotely
  • Well-presented individual with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experienced negotiator
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiar with SAP and CRM systems

Work Environment

  • Remote position
  • Fast-paced, hands on, start-up type environment
  • Majority of interaction will be with Covington, GA operations and external customer teams
  • Some travel (expect 10-15%)
