Job Summary

Automation Engineer Lead

Automation involves a very broad range of technologies including robotics, control systems, network communications, test measurement, data collection, and many more. Automation engineers must be detail-oriented, with strong communications skills, and creative thinkers. They must be able to troubleshoot systems and be willing to learn new technologies. Automation Engineers are employed in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive, alternative energy, and any industry where automation is found.

Requirement: Must be authorized to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship is available.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with automated processes
  • Strong knowledge of robot programming including offline programming, workspace monitoring, vision applications, troubleshooting.
  • Experience with one or more robot brands (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Motoman).
  • Programming knowledge of PLC’s, and embedded controllers is a plus
  • Knowledge of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) programming
  • Knowledge of one or more structured programming languages (Java, C++)
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and communications (Ethernet, ProfiNet)
  • Understanding of basic electrical measurement principles and test equipment
  • Organizational skills to maintain project documentation, write test procedures, system manuals, and specifications
  • Participation in the development, construction, and installation of custom equipment builds
  • Ability to successfully execute multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer navigation skills
  • Provide troubleshooting support for customers

Job Requirements:

  • Must be available to travel 70% of the time or more as required
  • Eager to learn and ability to be coached
  • AS/BS Degree or equivalent job experience
  • Interest in working hands-on within an industrial manufacturing environment
