Position Overview

The Senior Automation Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful achievement of both organizational and client goals at the project level. This position is primarily responsible for spearheading the design, development, installation, and execution of processes and systems essential for project delivery.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Directs and engages in the design and development of automation systems.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves technical issues while supporting team members.
  • Oversees technical tasks in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Manages project activities encompassing design, development, testing, installation, commissioning, project closure, and reporting.
  • Collaborates with clients and vendors to clarify project technical specifications.
  • Ensures compliance and quality standards are met throughout project execution.
  • Accountable for delivering all project tasks within the designated budget.
  • Contributes to the development of project scope and budget.
  • Provides consultancy and client services at the project level.
  • Leads various project tasks including:
  1. Project Initiation
  2. System Design and Procurement
  3. Programming and Configuration
  4. Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  5. Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Commissioning
  6. Final Documentation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a preferred minimum of 5 years of experience in Automation or Controls (including relevant internships or co-ops).
  • At least 2 years of experience leading automation initiatives within a team.
  • Technical expertise in various automation system platforms, including DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other relevant systems.
  • Experience implementing solutions in accordance with industry standards (ISA, NFPA, NEC).
  • Ability to obtain ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation with liability insurance.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English.
  • Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Availability for overnight and extended travel.
