Job Summary:

Our Finance department is looking for an Accounting Coordinator with a high sense of responsibility and attention to detail who thrives in a company where hard work and work/ life balance are valued and appreciated. This position is a full-time job with benefits in Alliance Inspection Management’s (AIM’s) Finance department. The company’s CFO and Controller are both committed to our staff’s professional development and training. We maintain a professional, collaborative, performance-oriented work environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare month-end revenue and expense by inspector allocations.
  • Assist Controller in preparing monthly inspector profitability reports and 12-month inspector trendlines.
  • Assist Controller with monthly close, including preparation of month-end journal entries and balance sheet account analyses.
  • Fully cross-train with Revenue & Receivables Accountant, Accounts Payable & Expense Accountant and Staff Accountant, and be able to handle key elements of those desks if they are out of the office.
  • Develop proficiency with MS Dynamics Great Plains G/L, A/P, A/R and Fixed Assets.
  • Interact with external auditors and tax accountants (Moss Adams) as needed.
  • Leases ROU Asset
    • Calculate NPV of future lease payments and book ROU Lease Asset and Liability each month.
    • Maintain lease database in Binary Stream lease accounting software.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet Account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Regular and consistent attendance and availability.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Perform office management tasks as needed, including ordering supplies for the office and serving as the office’s liaison with building management for parking passes, building fobs and parking validations. Periodically checking the office’s general number voicemail for messages and distributing mail.
  • Other duties, special projects and/or aspects may be assigned/requested.
  • Some overtime will be required during the monthly close, peak periods when we work on budgets & forecasts and when we prepare for Board meetings.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required.
  • Basic knowledge of financial statements, basic familiarity with US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including pivot tables and V-Lookup
  • Highly motivated, analytical, well-organized self-starter.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; works well in group policymaking and problem-solving situations.
  • Interest in a career in accounting, including progression to more senior roles.

The position requires your availability 5 days a week (Mon-Fri) from 7am-4pm, for a minimum total of 40 hours per week. The position is required to come into the AIM Long Beach office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but can work remotely Monday, Thursday and Friday.

We will provide you with a laptop, company email, MS Office, MS Teams and access to MS Dynamics Great Plains G/L, A/P and A/R.

Compensation:

  • Hourly (Non-Exempt)– Full Time Position ($24-$26 DOE per hour).
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, LTD, life insurance and 401 K participation.
