Position Summary


The Sponsorship Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in advancing the Food Bank ‘s mission by managing fundraising events and cultivating community partnerships. This position is responsible for building relationships with businesses, corporations, faith-based organizations, and civic groups within the Food Bank’s 50-county service area. As a member of the Development Team, the Sponsorship Engagement Specialist aims to increase revenue through strategic event planning and partnership cultivation.


Essential Duties/Functions:

Sponsorships

  • Lead efforts to create new and unique partnerships with businesses, corporations, and foundations.
  • Manage all sponsorship requests for events, working with the Development Manager to establish sponsorship levels.
  • Research and develop new fundraising initiatives and opportunities.
  • Represent God’s Pantry Food Bank professionally, cultivating strong relationships with partners, event sponsors and attendees, vendors, agencies, volunteers, and the community to support the Food Bank’s mission and fundraising goals.
  • Engage with businesses and corporate groups to provide updates on Food Bank activities, solicit support, acknowledge contributions, and promote hunger relief in Central and Eastern Kentucky.
  • Attend community and social events to network and solicit sponsorships and potential partners for God's Pantry Food Bank, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to implement and manage the Food Bank’s Faith-Based Partnership Program, with a focus on expanding the program and cultivating existing relationships.

Event Planning

  • Oversee the planning and management of fundraising events for the Food Bank, including staffing, budgeting, design, and logistics.
  • Coordinate and execute signature events (Chili Wars, Taste of the Bluegrass, and Basket Brigade) in collaboration with the Development Team, internal departments, and external partners.
  • Work with the Employee & Community Engagement Team on a robust marketing plan, creative services (graphics, print and digital marketing collateral, etc.) and publicity/media relations to promote events and partnerships.
  • Enhance existing events to maximize their impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of event planning, sponsorship requests, and solicitations.
  • Collaborate with fellow Event Coordinator to recruit and obtain silent and live auction items to boost fundraising revenue at the Food Bank’s fundraising events.

Stewardship

  • Assist in the stewardship of donors, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and event participants.
  • Collaborate with members of the Development Team to plan and coordinate an annual donor stewardship event.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation $23/hour or more

Requirements:

Education/ Skills Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in event planning or project management is required.
  • Non-profit or fundraising experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a creative, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the ever-changing fundraising landscape.
