Position Overview
As a Community Engagement Specialist at FIRST COMMUNITY BANK (SC), you will be instrumental in crafting, executing, and managing outreach strategies to ensure the bank effectively connects with and serves all segments of the community, while also bolstering the bank's visibility and reputation across the regions served.
Key Responsibilities (Additional responsibilities may be assigned):
- Foster partnerships with community organizations to advance outreach and diversity initiatives.
- Develop and sustain relationships with groups focused on minorities, women, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and other protected demographics.
- Oversee outreach activities promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion among employees, clients, vendors, and local communities.
- Contribute to the bank's fair lending objectives by remaining knowledgeable about fair lending regulations and aiding in the development of lending services for targeted populations.
- Assist the bank's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) initiatives by comprehending CRA standards, recognizing needs within service areas, and creating programs to address those needs.
- Support affirmative action initiatives by staying informed on requirements, conducting outreach for targeted recruitment, and documenting all outreach efforts.
- Communicate outreach strategies with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate training for bank personnel on CRA, Fair Lending, Affirmative Action, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
- Identify and coordinate volunteer opportunities for bank staff.
- Serve as the bank's cultural ambassador by collaborating with internal teams on cultural initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline with 3-5 years of experience in community outreach, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to present effectively to groups.
- Ability to interact positively with all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in interpreting various instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Adept at meeting deadlines and working under pressure.
- Exhibit strong time management skills.
- Proficient in utilizing personal computers and office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
