Overview

AVIAN is seeking a Corporate Communications/Multimedia Specialist to support the promotion, enhancement, and protection of AVIAN’s brand reputation. As an ambassador for the organization and its culture, the Corporate Communications Specialist will support the communication strategies set forth by the Vice President of Employee Experience to uphold AVIAN’s mission, vision and corporate value – we take care of each other.

The Corporate Communications Specialist will support a variety of strategic communication initiatives for internal and external corporate communications; multimedia design and corporate and community event support.

Responsibilities

Internal corporate communications

  • Assist with communications strategies to increase employee engagement, awareness and productivity to include the facilitation of routine employee outreach in all geographic locations.
  • Support an employee-ownership culture through communications campaigns.
  • Assist with design and distribution of various printed materials for internal company communication.
  • Design, edit and publish employee electronic communications through email, eNews, company portals and quarterly newsletters/publications.
  • Assist in developing, producing and writing articles for internal distribution.
  • Enrich the company brand using graphic design techniques.
  • Assist with ordering and management of internal company promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Employee Experience, Operations team and the Human Resources team for employee engagement and employee recognition programs.
  • Measure, track and present results of communication efforts by conducting internal communication surveys and audits.
  • Assist with the management, design and layout of internal communications portals such as SharePoint.
  • Assist with planning, promoting and executing corporate events.

External communications

  • Assist in developing, producing and writing press releases and articles for external distribution.
  • Assist with company marketing sponsorship opportunities.
  • Assist with community outreach, as needed.
  • Assist with company recruiting efforts, as needed.

Multimedia

  • Assist with updates and maintenance of the company website.
  • Assist with scheduling, creating and updating AVIAN’s social media sites (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) to include routine postings.
  • Assist with updates and maintenance of all video communication sites (e.g., MS Stream, YouTube, Vimeo).
  • Assist with the design and development of advertising and trade show displays and print materials.

Special events and community projects

  • Coordinate with the Vice President of Employee Experience to develop, manage and promote AVIAN’s donations and sponsorships program.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Employee Experience regarding internal events and team building.
  • Assist the Wellness Coordinator with RENEW Crew events, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Employee Experience to plan, promote and execute corporate team building events such as Summer Picnics and Holiday Parties.

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient with commercial software packages, to include at a minimum Microsoft Office (specifically, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in AP style writing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Create Suite software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) or industry leading design tools such as Canva
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource or Communications-related field. (In lieu of a Bachelors degree, an Associate'sDegree plus two years experience will be accepted)
