Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Logistics Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the logistics department. This position is a first-line supervisory position that includes facilitating internal communication between employees and leadership, managing short-term scheduling needs, equipment and supply maintenance responsibilities, and other operational support functions as assigned by the Logistics Manager or the Support Services Director.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties

  • Supervises assigned staff members and the department work areas
  • Provides direction and motivation to the team, assists with employee scheduling needs and maintaining accountability of assigned personnel at all times
  • Ensures all employees within the department have clear customer service expectations
  • Provides continuous performance feedback to employees efficiently and effectively
  • Brings equipment and supply issues to the attention of the Logistics Manager and provides recommendations for cost-effective solutions
  • Receives and inventories all medical supplies, uniform orders, medications and other supplies used by the agency
  • Audits all employee work flow and recorded data for accuracy
  • Develops action plans to resolve shortfalls in training, employee performance and procedures
  • Operates various computer programs used in supply ordering, employee system access control and off-site supply locker operation
  • Fills-in as needed for open shifts or at times of critical staffing

Supply, Resource, and Equipment Care Areas

  • Possesses advanced knowledge and serves as the departments subject matter expert on the maintenance and repair of the following:
  1. Zoll cardiac monitors
  2. Autopulse devices
  3. Sapphire IV pumps
  4. McGrath laryngoscope
  5. Portable suctions Devices
  6. Other medical devices used by RAA

Pharmacy Program

  • Applies existing department guidelines in the execution of the pharmacy program to include the inventory and restocking of medication kits along with the regular required inventory and audits of shelved medications

Other

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned by management

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED Certificate
  • Must possess National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) or Virginia EMT Certification
  • Applicants lacking this certification must obtain within 12 months of employment
  • Can demonstrate the ability to supervise and direct the work flow of others
  • Can demonstrate the ability as a supervisor to support the needs of the logistics staff
  • Must be capable of working with others in a customer service oriented enviroment
  • Can successfully develop and maintain working relationships with others
  • Can demonstrate the ability to train others, analyze situations and react quickly to service needs
  • Must be able to communicate and document clearly with a high degree of organization
  • Can safely operate ambulances and other motor vehicles
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience with employee supervision, employee training and inventory management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Must have substantial movements of the body, wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in various environmental conditions as well as temperature changes
  • Must have visual acuity sufficient to operate motor vehicles
  • Must have visual acuity sufficient to perform computer activities such as preparing or analyzing data
  • Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Must have the ability to pass the Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), Background Check, and Drug Screening.
