A family operated real estate firm in the Redmond, WA area is seeking a top performing Senior Accountant to join their team. This position will work closely with the Controller and management to manage full cycle accounting, general ledger, payroll, cash management, financial reporting, and accounts payable for multiple entities. In addition, the role will provide accounting assistance to support real estate development and job cost projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly financial close process.
- Manage development accounting, including tracking and reporting on project costs, budgets, and variances.
- Oversee job cost accounting, ensuring accurate allocation and categorization of project expenses.
- Handle payroll preparation and processing, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Manage cash flow activities, projections, and reconciliation processes.
- Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Assist with preparing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide support to finance forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies in all financial transactions.
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide support during audits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience. Public accounting or CPA is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, with a focus on data analysis and financial modeling.
- Experience with Accumatica or construction accounting software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, and job cost accounting.
- Knowledge of development accounting, particularly within real estate or construction industries, is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and attention to detail, particularly with sensitive information.
