Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Addison Group. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing full cycle accounting, general ledger, payroll, cash management, financial reporting, and accounts payable for multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly financial close process.
  • Manage development accounting, including tracking and reporting on project costs, budgets, and variances.
  • Oversee job cost accounting, ensuring accurate allocation and categorization of project expenses.
  • Handle payroll preparation and processing, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Manage cash flow activities, projections, and reconciliation processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist with preparing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide support to finance forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies in all financial transactions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide support during audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting experience. Public accounting or CPA is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with a focus on data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Experience with Accumatica or construction accounting software is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, and job cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of development accounting, particularly within real estate or construction industries, is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and attention to detail, particularly with sensitive information.
