Position TITLE: Safety Supervisor – Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)                  Reports To: Operations Manager       

LOCATION: Dow Chemical Freeport 2301 N. BRAZOSPORT BLVD

 Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the job site to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is available, properly maintained, and used correctly by all personnel.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on safety audits and inspections.
  • Ensure the job site complies with OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct safety orientations and training sessions for new hires and existing employees.
  • Educate workers on proper safety practices, emergency procedures, and the use of safety equipment.
  • Provide ongoing safety education to all site personnel.
  • Respond immediately to safety incidents and accidents, ensuring proper first aid and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Investigate incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and injuries.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety programs.
  • Work with management to set safety goals and objectives.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management.
  • Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and employees to address safety concerns and improve safety standards.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all safety-related issues on the job site.
  • Communicate safety performance and issues to upper management.

 Skills and Qualifications 

  • Proven background in leading and influencing individuals and groups of employees.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time to visit sites within areas of responsibility for meetings, training and for audit purposes.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish highly preferred but not required.
