Total Safety is seeking a dedicated Technician I - Turnaround to become part of our safety-focused team. In this role, you will operate under the guidance of a supervisor within a plant setting, delivering a range of services that may encompass inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of both customer-owned and company equipment. Regular interaction with clients is a key aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquire skills to inspect, test, and maintain safety equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, documenting services as per company and customer protocols.
  • Assist in facility operations, including organizing clean, tested equipment and preparing customer orders for delivery.
  • Ensure workspaces and surrounding areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion. Additional responsibilities will be assigned post-training.
  • Learn to manage the issuance, receipt, tracking, and inspection of equipment using company-provided software.
  • Communicate effectively and build rapport with clients promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Conduct receipt, inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembly, and testing of various respiratory equipment, ensuring compliance with approved procedures.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on breathing air regulators and reducers.
  • Complete all documentation and data entry related to inspections and repairs accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections and functional tests of various systems and equipment, reporting any deficiencies and recommendations for corrective actions to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas.
  • Work in 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of Total Safety Work Instruction training and demonstrated ability to service fall protection, gas detection, and breathing air equipment, with limited supervision.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Good driving record, eligible for company vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to pass internal forklift/scissor-lift certification as necessary.
  • Capability to obtain manufacturer certification if required for specific tasks.

Work Environment:
  • Work primarily in a plant environment, with potential exposure to wet, humid conditions, vibrations, and customer sites. May encounter high pressure, chemicals, and plant traffic. Noise levels are typically moderate.

Educational Background:
  • A high school diploma or GED, along with 3 to 6 months of relevant experience.
