We are looking for a Contractor Safety Technician to join our NAF team in Freeport, TX

The Contractor Safety Specialist will provide technical expertise to manage and improve contractor safety at the site. Responsibilities include monitoring contractor safety programs, increasing safety awareness, and assisting in achieving EHS goals. The position requires the ability to motivate and coach others at all levels of the organization. The Specialist will spend 80% of their time in the field interacting with contractors and site personnel. They must be a strategic thinker, willing to attend training for skill development. The Specialist will engage in discussions related to contractor safety and work to improve safety culture in a non-confrontational manner. Leadership, team building, and communication skills are necessary. The position may also involve attending contractor companies' safety meetings.

During your shift as a Contractor Safety Technician, you will


• Executing Contractor on-boarding / pre job kickoff meeting

• Conducting and overseeing Contractor observations

• Conducting, overseeing, and providing oversite of Incident / Injury investigations

• Building strong partnering relationships between the site and contractors

• Driving safety process / performance improvements

• Identifying and share best practices.

• Reporting of contractor monthly man hours

• Reviewing and maintaining Avetta contractor list and also reviewing and updating contractor onboarding information as needed.

• Enter, analyze and report weekly observation data including leading issues.

• Having flexibility to be able to work any shifts as needed and / or directed.

• Communicate with the Contractor Management Steering Team, Technical and Engineering Services (TES) Managers, Operations Managers, and Site Managers to evaluate Contractor Safety effectiveness / needs.

• BS Degree and minimum 4+ years professional experience, AS Degree and minimum 6+ years professional experience, OR HS diploma/GED and a minimum of 8+ years professional experience.

• Construction Site Safety Technician Certification (CSST)

• Have 4+ years in industrial safety role, working with contractors, strongly preferred.

• Have familiarity with EHS and applicable safety regulatory standards.

• Are able to analyze data, report data, and recommend improvements to the area supervisor/manager and/or leadership team.

• Are competent in the use of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) . As well as skillful to prepare and present presentations to varied audiences using PowerPoint.

• Possess, or are able to possess, a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and outside of your primary work group.

• Have excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead small and large groups to complete assigned tasks.
