Broadcast Management Group is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to capture accounting data, process daily transactions, and ensure high accuracy and accountability. The Controller will be key in evolving the accounting department to best support the business. This will include establishing and implementing scalable business processes, supporting a system implementation, and driving accounting operations. We’re looking to add someone to the team who is eager, energetic, adaptable, and detail oriented. The Controller will report to the CEO and have visibility for the COO and senior management.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Verify, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare journal entries, variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review cash management transactions and prepare cash reports for management
- Review capital expenditure schedules and coordinate tax reportable transactions
- Maintain and monitor debt schedules and agreements
- Assist in the quarterly and annual external financial audit
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process ensuring strict deadlines are met
- Take a leading role in the annual audit
- Assist in the preparation of required tax filings
- Ensure all financial data complies with GAAP
- Establish and drive business processes that will enable more efficient financial operations and collaboration with the company
- Strengthen accounting and financial processes to achieve best practices and optimal output
- Ad Hoc analysis and projects as required
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3-6 years of public or private accounting experience, CPA preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Proactive and hardworking with a strong desire to succeed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Detail oriented and organized
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Great team player
