SUMMARY:

The Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative role is a customer facing role that is responsible for safely and effectively organizing, planning and coordinating driver assignments in addition to assisting with a variety of customer service related functions.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide superior customer service skills in all interactions with our customer base.
  • Answer customer’s questions about products, prices and availability.
  • Prepares and prints sales tickets.
  • Collects and processes payments.
  • Completes all daily administrative duties.
  • Use effective listening skills to collect required information or to identify potential problems/warning signs and escalate when necessary.
  • Develop relationships with customers and drivers; utilize relationships to influence others and gain willing cooperation.
  • Counter sales – including taking orders, answering questions relating to the order, receiving payment and executing the order.
  • Work with internal sales and customers to arrange pickup and delivery of orders.
  • Setup shipping to jobsites with company and independent drivers.
  • Order material for production.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be able to work independently.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
  • The work is performed in an office environment with minimal noise, depending upon the operation of various office equipment; this will include phones, scanners, copiers, etc.
  • Capable of operating various types of office equipment including but not limited to computers, copiers, and scanners.


PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

  • Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting – 25 pounds minimum.
