INTAKE SPECIALIST


Guidance & Family Solutions is looking for a qualified Intake Specialist to join our dedicated team


The Intake Specialist is vital part of our team, and is responsible for responding to inquiries from individuals or parents/guardians regarding requests for treatment, handling referrals from outside entities, and scheduling and/or cancelling initial appointments for clients


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serves as initial point of contact with new clients, and completes client registration process in electronic health record.
  • Verifies insurance coverage in order to schedule with appropriate provider.
  • In coordination with internal clinical team, refers clients to other community resources when indicated, and provides emergency recommendations for non-clients.
  • Monitors available intake times and ensures compliance with wait time standards.
  • Has ability to consult as needed when crises arise during intake calls.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years professional office experience, strong data entry and computer skills preferred.
  • Experience working in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills a plus
  • Ability to hear and process difficult client situations compassionately and with healthy boundaries
