Responsibilities:

  • May provide assistance in the review of contract documents.
  • May be assigned responsibility for a specific area of a project such as construction, engineering, or services.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in most aspects of project management and project control activities with the ability to become proficient in all.
  • Experience in developing operating and financial plans.
  • Some knowledge and skill in prime contract formation, negotiation, and administration.
  • Technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction techniques, including their interfaces and interdependencies.
  • Skill in oral and written communication as well as applying team building concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with project controls and/or project management, project budgets including cost estimating, cost control and cost analysis, project scheduling, implementation of corrective actions, developing and delivering detailed and accurate status reports and basic knowledge of/and experience with engineering functions and principles required to understand and successfully implement and monitor technical projects.
  • Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes.
  • US Citizen.
  • Successful drug screen.

Specific to Senior PM position:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline from an accredited institution.
  • > 10 years’ experience in one of the following functions: engineering, procurement or construction leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of project management tools and techniques relating to all project activities. Knowledge of project processes and an understanding of project management activities, such as planning, budgeting, and performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of facility decommissioning, characterization, risk mitigation and demolition processes.
  • Knowledge of facility waste characterization and disposal processes.

Desired:

  • Experience working with the Department of Energy (DOE) or Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) at headquarters, contractors, and/or field office level, or with state and federal regulators.
  • Experience in successfully leading multiple projects through the standard phases to include initiation, planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up and testing, and close-out.
  • Experience reporting to and communicating with multiple supervisory organizations/stakeholders.
  • Previous experience on a planning team and/or detailed engineering design.
