Job Summary:

This position is responsible for keeping track of materials and tools signed out to Building Authority associates. Obtain best price and availability for parts and tools on requisitions, alterations, work orders, and inventory. Maintain inventory stock levels. Ship and receive deliveries for the Building Authority. Assist other trades when necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for locating best price and availability on tools and material for alternations, work orders, requisitions, and inventory
  2. Keep track of all tools and material checked out and returned by associates.
  3. Order and maintain inventory stock levels
  4. Enter data for requisitions, work orders, alterations and estimates
  5. Add to and update vendor listings
  6. Check delivered items against purchase orders
  7. Receive shipments and close out purchase orders
  8. Expedite purchase orders
  9. Arrange “Will Call” pick-ups with Vendors
  10. Arrange for parts pick-ups
  11. Purge and make folders for closed out purchase orders, work orders, estimates, alterations, etc.
  12. Check tools and equipment for repairs or safety issues
  13. Engrave or stencil all tools and equipment
  14. Make folders on all new equipment and tools and log them in equipment file
  15. Shipping and receiving as needed
  16. Request and log Safety Data Sheets for chemicals
  17. Label all chemicals in tool crib and shops with HMIS labels
  18. Keep area clean, organized, and free of safety violations
  19. Obtain Building Authority uniforms for Associates, as needed
  20. Operates forklift truck when necessary.
  21. Assist building Security with tenant car problems in the parking garage
  22. Perform all other duties as assigned


Equipment used:

Storeroom Attendant are expected to be familiar with various tools and equipment including but not limited to Two-Wheel Dollies, Pallet Jacks, Forklift/Stacker, Fax Machine, Copier/Scanner, AMMS Custom Maintenance Management Software, Printers, Basic Computer Programs, and Two-Way Radio.

  • Ability to read, remember, and apply various number sequences
  • Ability to navigate the city for parts pick-ups and returns
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer services skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 2-3 years previous Inventory Experience
  • Knowledgeable; Maintenance Tools and Materials
  • Computer literate; previous experience entering purchase orders
  • Forklift Certification

  • This position requires work in an indoor building setting and exposed to outdoor environments.

  • This position requires the use and knowledge of maintenance tools and materials.
