Job Summary:


The IT Support Technician is a client/customer focused position that is motivated by team success. Your primary responsibility is to support the people and systems at Community Roots Housing that align our team to our mission. You will be innovative, energetic, and able to adapt to new processes and procedures quickly. You will also be committed, flexible, and have demonstrated the ability to maintain high levels of productivity, balance competing priorities and work both collaboratively and independently.


Duties and Responsibilities:


This position is expected to:


  • Provides remote and in-person support for Community Roots Housing employees
  • Troubleshooting and resolving employee issues with:
  • Hardware (Computers, Laptops, Printers, Scanners, Other equipment)
  • Windows Operating systems (Accounts, Permissions, Connectivity)
  • Microsoft Office
  • Telephony & communications support
  • VPN connectivity setup and support
  • Mobile device management
  • On-premise and cloud based services support and permission access
  • Onboarding of new staff
  • Hardware and software inventory, and deployments
  • Other projects and duties as assigned



Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to explain technical problems in plain language to a diverse staff of non-technical end users.
  • Planning Skills: Ability to understand future work and be able to plan to ensure the work is done on time and efficiently.
  • Must possess a keen attention to detail and outstanding employee service mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to use and troubleshoot Windows, iOS, MS Office efficiently.
  • Well versed in best practices in computing security.
  • Experience managing account permissions.
  • Experience troubleshooting basic networking issues.
  • Knowledge and experience deploying and troubleshooting Mobile Phones.
  • Experience troubleshooting remote workers, VPN.
  • Experience with Active Directory user updates and maintenance.
  • Dedication to and strong aptitude for troubleshooting technical problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, apply and coach to standards and best practices.
  • Hardware, software and connectivity troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work on-premise with Staff (Main office and site visits as needed –reliable transportation required) and comfortable with remote support/work as well.
  • Experience using Service Desk /ticketing software.
  • Hardware /software inventory management.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 Years prior experience in a corporate/organizational Help Desk environment
  • Technical knowledge technical auditing, backup solutions, and software
  • Working with ISP to troubleshoot connectivity
  • Experience working with and supporting audio-visual hardware
  • Software experience with multiple cloud-based services and systems
  • Knowledgebase documentation and development skills
  • Comfortable training basic software skills

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Position requires occasional bending, stooping, crawling, and working in tight spaces.

Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard.

Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.

Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech or other sounds (for example, machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms).

Ascending or descending structures like ladders, scaffolding, require the use of both the upper and lower body to climb.



Other Requirements:

Reliable transportation: Applicant must have reliable transportation as the position does require occasional site visits, or for equipment to be transported from site to site.
