Job Title: Athletic Trainer/Medical Assistant

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Clinical

Reports To: Clinical Manager

Hours: 8 hours per day; 40 hours per week; start and end times may change

Summary:

Patient care and general clinical and admin duties provided to help the provider’s team run efficiently throughout the day of clinic.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for notifying management of issues/concerns immediately
  • Recommends ideas for change to management to improve work flow process
  • Maintain and follows strict confidentiality guidelines
  • May be assigned projects as business needs arise to follow through to completion.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Potential first assist in surgery for physician
  • Customer Service – treat patients like they are family members
  • Patient Care in Clinic (including bracing and stitch removal)
  • Pre-Certification
  • Scheduling and re-scheduling patients
  • Follow up calls for all post op patients
  • Testing
  • Other admin duties as required (voicemail, scanning documents, sorting and responding to mail, etc.)
  • Creates Orders to be approved(Ex: DME, Medical Supplies)
  • Maintain spreadsheets
  • DME pre-certs
  • Oversees office inventory
  • Ordering of supplies
  • Discusses issues with patients concerning DME items

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

  • This position requires travel to our Centerville and Hamilton locations as well as other locations as business needs arise.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program
  • Valid Ohio athletic trainers license.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Health care industry experience
  • Experience as first assist in surgery

Work Authorization

  • Must be able to provide required documentation stating that the employee is legal to work in the United States.
