Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medication Aide to provide essential support in administering medications at Carespring.

Your role will involve assisting with the delivery of medications and treatments to residents in Assisted Living, as prescribed by the attending physician, under the guidance of nursing staff.

Compensation: $21 to $25 Per Hour (based on licensure and experience)
Additional shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts are available.

MA-C Medication Aide Certification is mandatory.
Must possess an MA-C certification to operate as a certified medication aide in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to facility policies and procedures related to medication administration.
  • Reporting any medication errors, clinical concerns, or resident needs to the supervising nurse.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to identify and prevent medication errors.
  • Completing necessary documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with nursing staff, attending physicians, and pharmacists.
  • Participating in care plan meetings and contributing to resident assessments.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Safely preparing, administering, and documenting various forms of medications as prescribed.
  • Accurately measuring and recording residents' vital signs.
  • Verifying the identity of residents receiving medications.
  • Following established procedures for medication documentation and storage.
  • Assisting in the compliance with medication destruction policies.
  • Clarifying treatment orders as necessary.
  • Managing medication orders and returns in accordance with regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized medication area.
  • Completing all required forms and documentation in line with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Active certification to practice as a medication aide.
  • Current certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant in Ohio.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Capability to handle sensitive information regarding residents' health.
