Athletic Training Specialist

Job Summary:
Kettering Health is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of sports medicine. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a vital role in our team, working closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sports Medicine, Coordinator of Athletic Training Services, or Athletic Trainer Team Lead to provide high-quality care to patients with athletic injuries, trauma, and disease processes.
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs for athletes in community and clinic settings, promoting a culture of wellness and safety.
- Conduct a wide range of treatment procedures, including rehabilitation and physical therapy, to support patients in their recovery journey.
- Maintain open communication with referring physicians and sports medicine staff, ensuring seamless coordination of care and timely updates on patient progress.
- Work with a diverse range of patients, from youth to adults, and provide individualized care and support to meet their unique needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or Art degree in a relevant field.
- Current licensure from the Ohio Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board.
- Current certification by the Athletic Trainers Board of Certification.
- Current certification in healthcare provider-level CPR.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of athletic training principles and practices, with a commitment to staying current with industry developments and advancements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of patients and the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- One year of professional experience in athletic training or a related field, with a strong understanding of clinical ladder requirements.
