Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medication Aide to provide essential support in administering medications and treatments to residents in our care.

Your role will involve assisting with the administration of prescribed medications and treatments to residents, ensuring compliance with physician orders and facility protocols, under the supervision of nursing staff.

Compensation: $21 to $25 per hour (based on licensure and experience), with additional shift differentials for evening and weekend hours.

Certification Requirement: MA-C Medication Aide Certification is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to facility policies regarding medication administration.
  • Reporting any medication discrepancies or resident needs to nursing staff.
  • Contributing to the development of procedures aimed at minimizing medication errors.
  • Completing necessary documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with nursing team members, physicians, and pharmacists.
  • Participating in care plan meetings and resident assessments.

Clinical Duties:

  • Safely preparing, administering, and documenting various types of medications as prescribed.
  • Measuring and recording vital signs accurately.
  • Ensuring proper identification of residents receiving medications.
  • Following established protocols for medication storage and documentation.
  • Assisting in the management of medication destruction in accordance with regulations.
  • Clarifying medication orders as necessary.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized medication area.

Qualifications:

  • Active certification as a medication aide in the state.
  • Current certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
