Mountain View, United States Athelas Full time $70,000 - $100,000
Job DescriptionJob Description

Healthcare providers go into medicine to care for people, but end up losing valuable time each day to admin work and other workplace challenges. Time that could otherwise be spent helping patients. And patients end up suffering as a result. At Athelas + Commure, we build solutions that simplify providers' lives and keep them connected to their patients so they can focus on doing what matters most: providing care.

Our innovative suite of software and hardware – augmented by advanced LLM AI, RTLS, and healthcare workflow automations – boosts efficiency across every domain of healthcare, freeing up healthcare providers to spend more of their time caring for patients. Our growing suite of technologies include staff duress alerting, asset tracking, patient elopement, revenue cycle management, clinical documentation and intake, provider copilots, patient engagement and communication, home health, remote patient monitoring, and more.

Today, we support over 250,000 clinicians across hundreds of care sites around the country. And we’re only just getting started: Healthcare’s watershed moment for AI-powered transformation is here – so join us in creating the technology to power healthcare

About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws while managing employee relations across the organization. You will serve as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on complex employee situations, developing and implementing policies, and leading initiatives to maintain a compliant and positive work environment. This role requires a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day HR operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Employee Relations:

    • Lead and support employee relations cases, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

    • Provide expert guidance to managers on handling complex employee situations, ensuring a fair and consistent approach to employee relations across the organization.

    • Develop and implement frameworks for addressing workplace issues, including creating training materials and ensuring the consistent application of company policies.

  • Process Development and Implementation:

    • Establish, refine, and implement processes related to performance management, employee grievances, and disciplinary actions.

    • Ensure that all HR processes are effective and align with organizational goals, while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.

  • Compliance and Legal Adherence:

    • Lead compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and ensure that company policies and practices are fully compliant, thereby mitigating legal risks.

    • Partner with payroll and other HR functions to review wage and hour compliance, employee classification, and conduct regular HR audits to ensure adherence to legal standards.

    • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures, communicating any changes effectively across the organization.

  • Investigations and Resolution:

    • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, including issues related to discrimination, harassment, and other workplace concerns.

    • Ensure that all investigations are handled confidentially, fairly, and in compliance with legal standards.

  • Training and Development:

    • Deliver comprehensive management training programs focused on compliance, employee relations, and performance management.

    • Support the development and implementation of learning programs that drive employee growth and organizational effectiveness.

  • Leadership and Influence:

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization, leveraging resources effectively to influence change and share critical information.

    • Act as a strategic advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations that enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.

What You Have:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with proven experience managing a range of employee relations issues.

  • Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, with experience in ensuring legal compliance across HR functions.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tact.

  • Strong organizational and professional skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and a high level of attention to detail.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative, can work independently, and intuitively knows when to inform, verify, collaborate, and escalate.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to build trust and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with HRIS systems, particularly Rippling, is preferred.

  • Previous experience in a startup environment is a plus.

Why you’ll love working at Athelas + Commure:
