Forensics / Malware Senior Analyst – Abel Personnel

About the Role:

Abel Personnel is excited to present an outstanding opportunity for a Forensics / Malware Senior Analyst to join our client’s cutting-edge team in Arizona. If you’re an experienced cybersecurity professional ready to tackle complex challenges in digital forensics and malware analysis, this role is for you Work closely with a high-profile federal client to protect critical systems from emerging cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of malicious code using advanced tools such as disassemblers, debuggers, hex editors, unpackers, virtual machines, and network sniffers.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports detailing malware identification, capabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct thorough research on malicious software vulnerabilities and exploitation tactics.
  • Utilize your expertise in application and network security, reverse engineering, and tools like IDA Pro, OllyDbg, and TCPDump to secure vital systems.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team to safeguard vital DoD systems in a dynamic, challenging environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance (required).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, digital forensics, or ethical hacking, with a focus on Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 8+ years.
  • GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) certification (required).
  • One of the following certifications: CISSO, CPTE, CySA+, CFR, FITSP-A, GCSA, GPEN, CCE, CISA, CISM, GCIH, GSNA, or equivalent military cyber training.
  • ITIL Foundations certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire).
  • Proven experience managing complex technical projects within a DoD environment.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience leading technical teams and overseeing complex cybersecurity operations with minimal supervision.
  • Expertise in working with military and civilian leadership to ensure program success.
