Top Skills' Details:

Job Description:

We are a privately held Cloud Services company that provides high powered servers to Data Centers across the world. Their largest customers are Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple who leverage us for both their server hardware and their top notch support service. We are expanding rapidly in the Data Center space world wide and doubled in size in 2015. When their customer in a specific market requests to add our support coverage along with their servers, they reply on TEKsystems exclusively to provide an onsite technician to support the given location within the US.

They are looking for a technician with 6 months -3 years of data center experience, a great attitude, and the ability to work collaborative. Within the data center, the candidates should have experience with installation and troubleshooting servers. Experience with Linux operating systems is very nice to have. This is a 12 year renewable contract which will most likely be extended. There may also be opportunity for this person to work remote during slow weeks.

We are currently seeking Datacenter Technicians to be based in specific field locations in support of the company’s end customers as they deploy and maintain servers. The ideal candidate for this role balances technical skills, attention-to-detail, customer focus while following and establishing processes. Our Datacenter Technicians represent our company in front of our customers every day.

Responsibilities:
• Respond to service tickets for our servers in customer datacenters in a timely manner
• Keep parts lockers up to date and properly stocked at all times
• Troubleshoot and triage server failures to determine the most efficient path to getting a server back online for the customer
• Track server fleet health and validate that we are always exceeding customer requirements for total servers online
• Provide consistent, detailed feedback to the engineering team on failures, serviceability of servers, and integration with the datacenter
• Apply firmware and BIOS updates as needed using our engineering-approved tools
• Comply with all datacenter safety, security, and operational protocols at all times
• Be an outstanding representative of the company at all times
