Labor On Demand has immediate opening for Data Center Technician

Job Summary

The Data Center Technician is responsible for supporting various aspects of the data center ecosystem with an integrated focus on providing resiliency, redundancy and high availability of critical infrastructure supporting core operations. This position will work collaboratively within internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to ensure data center operations are aligned with defined requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • A data center technician is someone who provides all the necessary support to a business's data center:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on data center according to schedule and ensure effective working of mechanical building systems.

  • Maintain all operations systems and perform all emergency functions required for smooth operation.

  • Administer all service requests and provide resolutions to achieve required goals.

  • Manage and perform all critical and non-critical processes and participate in various predictive maintenance programs.

  • Documents all records for equipment's, prepare time sheets and administer back up equipment's at all times.

  • Administer all emergency backup and ensure no interruptions in operations for same.

  • Analyze equipment's and perform repair as per requirement.

  • Ensure all work according to local, state and Federal regulations.

  • Maintain inventory for equipment's keep records of warranty for all tools and equipment's.

  • Perform basic repair to basic building components.

  • Supervise work and maintain comprehensive workflow and ticketing system.

  • Guide the junior members in the organization

  • Develop standard operation procedures for various operations.

  • Manage all reoccurring problems and ensure work within timeframe and according to capacity demands.

  • Assist all senior level engineers and perform troubleshoot on all customer issues.

  • Basic knowledge of fiber, copper, power cables, etc., Basic knowledge regarding air handling hardware, generators, fire suppression hardware, Basic knowledge on electrical (PDU & UPS), lighting, HVAC, chillers

Minimum Qualification

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. 

Working Environment

Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computer equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

  • Sense of Sound (answering phone, fire alarms, horns)
