TCSAAL Regional Director Job Description

 

TCSAAL is a premier Athletic and Academic Competitions league serving Public Charter Schools in the High School and Middle School age groups throughout Texas.

 

A TCSAAL Regional Director is the core of our organization. Their role is to oversee and direct the athletic activities within their region. A Regional Director is the direct contact between our league and our clients within a region. You are the face of the company and have daily interaction with our coaches and schools.

 

A Regional Director:

  • Establishes the competition divisions for each athletic competition throughout their region

  • Creates competition schedules

  • Hires officials and assigns them to work competitions

  • Be on call while competitions are happening (weeknight evenings and Saturdays) to handle any issues that might arise

  • Manages Regional Playoffs including booking locations, hiring officials, creating schedules and attending and managing the playoff tournament

  • Oversees the teams in the region ensuring that they are staying up to date with score submissions, roster submissions and other relevant deadlines

  • Assist with putting on all State competitions

  • Maintains and update regularly the Regional Pages of the TCSAAL website

 

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities a TCSAAL Regional Director plays a vital role in helping with big picture needs of the organization. From helping with recruiting new schools, to working with current member schools to expand their activities they participate in, to helping our Academic and Arts Director put on competitions. They also will be utilized at times to help other regions with competitions. Our staff works as a team, and everyone is expected to pitch in and help wherever needed to ensure that our schools and students get a great competition experience.

 

Our Competition season runs from roughly Late August to Late May. During our competition season Regional Directors work many Saturdays. They also are expected to attend games and be a presence throughout the regular season and build relationships with our member schools.

 

TCSAAL takes a week off for Thanksgiving and an additional week for Spring Break. We also get two weeks off during the winter holiday. In addition, two weeks of vacation in the summer (June and July). We utilize the summer months for planning, organization preparation and recruitment.

 

TCSAAL Regional Directors work in Austin and remotely in their assigned region. You must have a reliable vehicle as you will be expected to travel to Austin for State Competitions and throughout Texas for other Regional competitions.

 

Pay starts at $52K a year. Hiring immediately for the Fall Semester of this School year.
