  • Fingerprint clearance through OSPI
  • 2 or more years’ experience working in a school setting preferred
  • 1 or more years of experience managing or leading CBTs

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate on a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • A passion for diversity, equity and inclusion measures in the workplace

Job Summary:

Working within APL's unique and cutting edge model, BCBAs support the clinical development of APL students through the creation and oversite of individualized, student- centered, strengths-based treatment plans, and measurement of progress toward established goals. BCBAS work across the APL community in grades K - 12 providing clinical training and task supervision for classroom behavior technicians, collaboratively teaching students directly, and participating in clinical department and classroom team meetings. Our BCBAs are a committed, fun loving group of individuals who take our students learning and care seriously. Since our restructuring in 2022 we have emerged as a safe space for students to be who they are regardless of diagnosis, background, or skillset.

As part of a neurodiversity affirming clinic we are not here to cure our students of their diagnosis but rather act as their learning partners enabling them to find learning pathways that are meaningful and relevant to them. We're a fast-paced work environment that is always striving to put our students and colleagues first and use innovative measures that look at quality of life; not just standard assessments.

Responsibilities:

Support robust, individualized, evidence based and data-driven ABA therapy services for students

  • Write robust, individualized, and data-driven ABA therapy plans for students that increase the necessary skills to access their education
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in accordance with agency policies and funder requirements
  • Prepare and update associated program materials (including program descriptions, data collection materials, data recording and analysis measures, program implementation materials, visual supports, etc.)
  • Provide direct therapy to clients without behavior technicians to support acquisition of self-management, executive functioning, and social skills
  • Provide group ABA therapy on targeted social skills
  • Provide behavior technician case support and supervision at a ratio established with and approved by the Lead BCBA
  • Complete quarterly treatment plan progress reports in compliance with all state, funding source and clinic guidelines
  • Maintain up to date client files in electronic health record; complete session documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with agency standards
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments/Analyses (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as needed
  • Help build and maintain systems to ensure clinical team compliance with individualized treatment plan, progress report, behavior intervention plan, and other clinical documentation creation and continuous updates
  • Conceptualize case management and long-term goal creation in alignment with APL’s outcomes measures and commitment to quality-of-life metrics.
  • Understand details of funding source requirements and monitor plans for appropriateness and regulations per individual funding source
  • Self-monitor all KPIs and report data weekly to the Lead BCBA

Engage families as partners in their child’s treatment process

  • Conduct regularly scheduled parent care coordination sessions on their child’s progress
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers while maintaining compliance with HIPAA
  • Communicate and collaborate with family’s other service providers to ensure coordination of care across settings

Act as the direct manager of CBTs

  • Provide consistent, timely feedback to CBTs on all areas of their professional development and performance
  • Complete competency assessments on a regular basis under the direction of the Lead BCBA

Collaborate with the APL team to support the overall operations and success of both the clinic and academic departments

  • Participate in all school related trainings and meetings
  • Understand and follow all APL policies and procedures
  • Prepare and lead trainings on various ABA topics in collaboration with the Lead BCBA
  • Engage in continuous professional development via identifying personal clinical interests and becoming “subject level experts” on that topic
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and actions in interactions with all APL students, staff, and families; communicate appropriately and always maintain a supportive and professional relationship.
  • Embrace a culture of feedback that supports student and staff growth and progress
  • Be part of a diverse, neurodiversity affirming environment.
