Sr Financial Analyst, Kindle Content

Seattle, Washington, United States Amazon Full time
At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth.

Within Kindle Content, that mission is advanced by attracting and retaining the authors who supply book content and by balancing author experience with long term profitability.

The Kindle Content Sr Financial Analyst plays an integral role in that mission. This role will keep leadership abreast of key financial trends, e.g. in author earnings, book buyer behavior and deep dive questions surfaced in trend analysis. This role will also create and support headcount controllership mechanisms that drive down cost to serve.

Based in either Seattle, WA or Charleston, SC, the Kindle Content Finance Analyst partners with mostly mid to high level business leaders within Kindle Direct Publishing, Amazon Publishing, and Comixology.

Key job responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning, forecasting, and financial reporting for partner businesses
  • Perform business case analysis of new programs, deals, feature launches, and acquisition proposals
  • Create and manage headcount tracking mechanisms.
  • Drive improvements to financial reporting views
A day in the life

On a day-to-day basis, the Sr Financial Analyst supports various businesses within Kindle Content - Amazon Publishing, Comixology, Kindle Direct Publishing, and others.

The role works with four other Finance team members to provide partner businesses ad hoc deep dives, forecasts, reporting artifacts, and business analysis.

Kindle Content businesses are constantly evolving, frequently launching new features and products to grow reading. Our Finance support evolves with these changes, so we are frequently building new models (e.g. for opportunity sizing) or new reporting views, in addition to improving insight and controllership for mature parts of our business.
