Our client, a digital marketing agency based in Seattle, is hiring a contract Data Analyst to join their team for the next 6 months. 20-25 hours/week. This is a fully remote role that will work standard working hours.


Role/Responsibilities

This is an opportunity to work with clients across business verticals to enhance their data-driven marketing strategies and data intelligence tools. As this agency typically works with client data in their particular data environments and technology stacks, the ideal candidate is a data analytics generalist who has the technical skillset and experience to work with data across a variety of familiar platforms and sources, as well as quickly orient themselves in new ones.


This role requires comfortable proficiency in most if not all the following areas:


Data Querying/Manipulation: Work across a variety of environments and platforms (cloud-based relational databases, marketing technology platforms such as Oracle Responsys and Google Analytics, unstructured CSV and Excel spreadsheets, etc.) to efficiently identify and prepare relevant raw Marketing/CRM source data (email/SMS/app campaign performance, web analytics, Customer Data Platform-CDP profiles, event logs, qualitative surveys, etc.) for effective and accurate analysis This includes proficiency in areas such as ETL processes, data definition/schema generation, and multi-source data joining along with the ability to implement automation in data workflows where possible.


Data Analysis: Derive comprehensive impactful insight into marketing audiences from KPI trend relationships, audience/behavioral segmentation, variance calculations, and more. Proficiency in applying statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing, ANOVA, and regression analysis to validate significance and predictability is a plus.


Data Visualization/Data Intelligence: Work with our Strategy team to create informative and appealing graphical data representations to summarize relevant insights and tell impactful data stories for a variety of stakeholders (from executive C-level to tactical campaign managers/analysts). This includes both presentation slides to support strategic recommendations for clients as well as dashboard creation in platforms such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Google Data Studio for ongoing data intelligence.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an analytic/quantitative discipline or relevant experience
  • 2+ years in a data analyst/data engineer role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, lookups, advanced formulas, charts, Data Analysis pack)
  • Microsoft Power Query & VBA a plus
  • Proficiency in SQL (both DDL & DML queries)
  • Experience managing a relational database schema a plus


Additional “plus” qualifications (not required)

  • Experiencing building in data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Google Data Studio, Microsoft Power BI, Datorama, Looker Domo, etc.
  • Experience in web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.)
  • Experience in Google Marketing Platform and Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in marketing automation platforms (Oracle Responsys, Braze, Iterable, SendGrid, Salesforce, Cordial etc.)
  • Statistical software such as R or SPSS
  • Python or JavaScript programming languages
  • Experience acquiring data through APIs
