Position Title: Haaker Refuse Sales Representative

Department: Sales

Location: Northern Califorina

Reports To: Sales Manager

Job Summary: The Haaker Refuse Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales of refuse trucks, parts, services, and rentals within the assigned territory. This role requires a proactive approach to achieving sales goals, maintaining profit margins, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Sales Representative will work closely with internal teams and customers to meet and exceed targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Goals and Performance:
    • Achieve at least 80% of set sales goals.
    • Consistently hit target sales goals for refuse trucks, parts, services, and rentals.
    • Maintain profit margins as per company standards.
  2. Customer Engagement:
    • Make regular sales calls to existing and potential customers.
    • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to customers.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.
  3. SalesForce Management:
    • Input all customer data, sales activities, and opportunities into Salesforce daily.
    • Ensure data accuracy and completeness in Salesforce.
  4. Expense Management:
    • Submit expense reports accurately and on time.
    • Adhere to company expense policies and procedures.
  5. Forecast Management:
    • Manage and update sales forecasts regularly.
    • Provide accurate sales projections to the management team.
  6. CARB Compliance:
    • Understand and stay updated on California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements.
    • Ensure all products and services comply with CARB regulations.
  7. Product and Service Sales:
    • Drive sales of refuse truck parts, services, and rentals.
    • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
  8. Team Collaboration:
    • Attend and actively participate in monthly VFT (Vital Factor Team) meetings.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including service, parts, and rental departments, to meet customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven sales experience, preferably in the refuse or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong understanding of CARB requirements and compliance.
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce or other CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Commercial Drivers License within 18 months.

Education or Experience:

  • Heavy Equipment Sales Experience

Work Environment:

  • This position may require frequent travel to customer sites and industry events.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet customer and business requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to detect hazardous fumes.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and step stools and work at heights when necessary.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, or crouch to perform tasks or access areas.
  • Ability to reach, stretch, or extend arms to access truck cabs.
