Hybrid 3-4 days per week onsite- Data Center Engineer with experience decommissioning Data Center environments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead technical and communication responsibilities associated with the migration of virtual machines to cloud.
- Configuration of prerequisites such as Veeam replication or Azure Site Recovery, contact business owners, schedule maintenance windows, and perform migrations.
- Perform post migration tasks related to datacenter consolidation
- Data cleanup
- Decommission of on-premises hardware, physical hosts, ESXi hosts and SAN infrastructure
- Post migration steps, such as changes to backup or patching related to moves
- Allocate resource consumption costs, right size workloads, capacity planning and lifecycle management.
- Provide support and administration of Corporate Production and R&D Cloud Infrastructure, including but not limited to vSphere, Azure and AWS based environments related to these migrations
Skills required:
- Configuration and maintenance of:
- Virtual networks, firewalls, ExpressRoute, DNS, and virtual private networks in a cloud environment.
- Azure IaaS and PaaS resources (Windows and Linux Virtual Machines, Azure Files, Azure SQL)
- Infrastructure and application monitoring (Nagios, Science Logic, Azure Monitor)
- Ability to work independently
- Scripting: PowerShell or Bash to improve automation functionality, reliability, and compliance
- Problem Solving; you will be faced with both operational and technical challenges as we move infrastructure from multiple on-premises datacenters to Cloud
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 2 years related experience
