We are seeking a skilled GIS Specialist to join our team at Avista. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating GIS data related to our gas and electric infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide up-to-date GIS infrastructure data and ensure mapping compliance requirements are met.
- Read, interpret, and configure traceable elements from various sources, including services, temps, meters, trouble reports, as-builts, and compliance requirements.
- Review, correct, translate, and complete finished red-lined construction designs into the geo database.
- Respond to mapping and data requests with internal customers in a professional manner.
- Use built-in QA/QC tools to ensure correct application of construction standards, AFM connectivity, and government-mandated compliance.
- Reconcile discrepancies between field inventory and other source documents utilizing construction standards knowledge.
- Provide feedback and technical assistance to design personnel on properly utilizing AFM and design tools.
- GIS certification.
- Specialized knowledge, experience, and training on construction standards for electrical and gas distribution systems.
- 2-4 years of related experience, depending on the level of the position.
