Job Summary:

Cedar House is a community support for young people experiencing barriers to safe & stable housing.

The Youth Direct Support Professional is responsible for the direct care and supervision of youth ranging from 12 up to 18 years old in an around- the-clock, staffed residential program. In this position, you would be providing a safe environment in a variety of settings while working on the implementation of youth directed goals that support them in achieving permanency, connection to education and other community resources.

We are looking for a Part-time position in the Arlington, WA area

Wage: $20-$22 hourly
Program: Cedar House, #27
Location: Arlington, Snohomish County, WA
Shift: 4-5 days per week, evening shifts 3pm - 11pm or 2pm to 10pm depending on the day. Will need to include either Saturday or Sunday
(32 or 40 hours per week)

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree (preferred in a social services field)

OR

  • Hold two years of college education that will used in combination with experience to meet criteria (education and experience can be exchanged on a year for year basis)

OR

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and have one year of related experience working with youth in a group care setting.
  • (Note: experience must include working with youth in a group care and/or residential setting; As a licensed foster parent; A therapeutic, educational, or community setting)
  • DCYF background clearance
  • Must be at least 21 years or older
  • Be able to provide proof of education

Licensing and Certifications:

  • Current drivers license, car, and car insurance with an acceptable driving record
  • Within 30 days of being hired CPR/First Aid license (paid by SA).
  • Within 30 days of being hired provide Food Handlers Permit (Paid by SA).
  • TB Test: Within 7 days of first day of employment, or prior to working on site (whichever comes first) (Paid by SA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Lived experience that may be related to the youth seeking services at the program
  • Experience working with marginalized communities and other social services programs
  • College Education completed within a Human Services or related field
  • Understanding of Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction & De-Escalation
  • Experience working with young people in a similar age group (12-18 years)
